About: 

Salokya is an experimental low cost residence located in the Green Belt region of Auroville. The aim is to have a place with climatic responsive design without compromising on the quality of living.

It is a 2 bedroom house with plenty of Kadappa shelves, a large kitchen and a compact yet well-designed bathroom. The structure is RCC framed with CSEB walls as fill-ins. There is an  ant channel around the house and a water body outside which are made from Ferro cement.

The grey oxide flooring with an open floor plan facilitates natural ventilation. The doors use recycled wooden frame with waterproof plywood.
