Kallalipattu is a beautiful village 16 km from the Panchayat town of Gingee (Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu). It is surrounded by hills and a rocky landscape.

The people here are mostly farmers and expressed their wish to have a Murugan temple in the village. The site is located among the mountains with large boulders everywhere. The design of the temple beautifully integrates these elements as part of the design.

The temple is constructed with a RCC column and beam structure with fired brick walls. The roof uses RCC slabs while Vengai wood is used for doors.
